New Customers and New Building, in High Point

Andy Woolgar

Since my last update we have continued to make great strides forward as a company here in North Carolina. Covering the entire state as a self-distributor is no small task but its one that we enjoy, meeting new customers whether we are delivering, hosting wine dinners and public tastings, or re-visiting more established ones.

As our client base grows so does the demand for our wines, so we are revising our shipments from Cape Town to make things easier and to lessen the likelihood of running out of varietals. That last fact is always hard to avoid as sometimes there’s a run on a certain varietal such as our Foundation Stone Red, Merlot and Pinotage as has been the case in the past few weeks.

In order to cope with the shipments we have purchased an ex-furniture showroom on Hamilton Street in High Point. The 11,500 square foot building will serve as our distribution center and showrooms for our wines and those of our partners, J.De Telmont Champagnes. We are styling the upper floor showrooms after our French and Dutch heritage with some more modern twists. The downstairs area is solely for distribution of our products. We estimate the opening date to be late July 2016. Working with local furniture manufacturers is high on our list and I am pleased to say that 99% of the furniture inside the building has been purchased in the High Point area.

In order to increase business in certain areas we have been focusing on growing our brand presence in Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte and Wilmington areas, with further growth spots along the NC coast and hopefully Asheville before the end of summer. I would like to welcome the following new clients: Grand Cru Wine Bar in Wilmington NC, Westgate Wine (Raleigh), Midtown Grille (Raleigh), Corkbuzz (Charlotte), The Wine Vault (Charlotte), Nautical Wheelers (New Bern), and in Greensboro, MJ’s Steak and Seafood and Cru Wine & Beer.

When the building is finished we will add images of the showrooms.
